  • "I highly recommend Duneland Doulas. I was lucky enough to work with Kelleen as my doula through my first pregnancy. I knew I wanted a natural, unmedicated birth, and knew in order to do that, I wanted the help and expertise of someone who has the experience to walk me through it. Kelleen and I met multiple times throughout my pregnancy, she helped me come up with a birth plan, and was an excellent resource throughout my pregnancy.   • "For my third baby I was planning a water birth at home and knew how important a support team was this time around. As well as being my good friend and doula mentor, Kelleen is also a home birth assistant so she was fulfilling many roles in my birth! Plans changed around 39 weeks when I had unexplained bleeding and we started to suspect my waters had been leaking for a few days. My midwife and I decided it would be best to get checked out at the hospital where we ended up being admitted. Although I was disappointed about the abrupt change of plans, having Kelleen by my side was a huge comfort. She knew my birth wishes and was able to help me adapt my plans in ways I was still comfortable with, even when I wasn’t thinking clearly. She read my mind and made the hospital feel homey by setting up candles, an essential oil diffuser, music, and dim lights.   • I highly recommend Duneland Doulas for a variety of services, especially placenta encapsulation. My placenta was picked up from the hospital within 1 hour of having our baby girl and delivered back to me within only a few days of being home! Kelleen also shaped her umbilical cord into the shape of a heart, which is a priceless keepsake! The capsules were sealed in a jar with the count marked on a sticker on top of the lid. Instructions on storage temperature and recommended dosage were included as well. I personally opted to keep them in the freezer so that I could spread them out for a longer period of time and take them less rigidly but more as needed. The capsules were easy to swallow and didn’t have a strong taste. I absolutely could tell the difference in my mood and emotions on days that I took my capsules vs. the days I did not. I was more calm and less overwhelmed by my emotional fluctuations. I also was breastfeeding and believe it helped bring in my supply and keep it up in those early days when I was exhausted and struggling to find my routine. I highly recommend doing the encapsulation and will definitely be utilizing this service again in the future if I am blessed with more babies!

  • I can’t say enough good things about the girls at Duneland Doulas. I had 3 babies in the last 3 years, and after each pregnancy I had them encapsulate each of my placentas. Kelleen was wonderful throughout the whole process answering any questions I had. Everything was very clean, sanitary, and she even sent me pictures of the process if I requested. I loved that when I received the bottle of pills, she had also dehydrated some of the umbilical cord and shaped it like a heart for a keepsake! If I ever have another baby, I’ll be using duneland doulas again for my placenta encapsulation.

  • First time mom here! Had no idea how vulnerable you can be during labor and birth! Kelleen was a HUGE blessing to have with me. Plan A was a home birth. I had back labor the whole time and Kelleen knew some tricks to ease the pain. My husband was completely worthless during all of this so mind you, I would have been ALONE without her. I had to be transferred to the hospital where I was completely TERRIFIED. Kelleen literally held me as I got my epidural! I had only just met her but she felt more like a best friend or a sister. I remember telling her to go home to see her family as she was nearing being with me for almost 24 hours! I didn’t get to push with her but I can imagine her being just as awesome there as she is everywhere else! She is all about what YOU want. I also loved her follow up visits. So informative and supportive! She’s the tough cookie you want in your corner!! I know I will definitely be having her at my next birth.
